VIVIAN NAKABUNGU

Date of Birth: 18th July, 2016

Vivian used to work with her mother cooking porridge for workers on the streets as a young girl. She helped her mother to serve customers, and many drunk men would bother her at night on the streets. Vivian’s mother found out about C4C and applied to give us her child, we agreed to help Vivian but not to house her at the orphanage. However, after a while, her mother suffered serious burns and we visited her in the hospital. This happened after a fight with a man who didn’t want to pay her after eating his porridge, unfortunately, this guy pushed Vivian’s mother in the porridge, she survived for 5 days and she died in Mulago hospital. This was when we brought Vivian into our care in February 2014.

She’s a shy, humble girl and likes thinking about the future. She wants to become a police officer when she grows up so that she can fight for women rights in Uganda. She performs well at school and her grades are really good. Her best subjects are English and social studies.
